After years of experience in pet care - mostly in day care, shelter, and boarding settings - our founder realized there was a gap in the market for those specials kitties and pups who’s needs don’t fit the typical mold.
There’s no such thing as ‘one size fits all’ when it comes to our beloved animals. Some dogs are more comfortable with one-on-one enrichment than they are being placed in a space alongside dozens of unfamiliar animals. Some cats love being taken outside to explore. Many pets have more complex social, enrichment, and medical needs than can be provided for in a larger animal care setting.
So, he founded CHARLOTTE PET CONCIERGE, a service dedicated to a bespoke, pet-first approach. An initial consultation with pet parents results in a detailed care plan that can involve anything from the occasional quick check in, to overnight sitting, to daily adventure and enrichment sessions.
We work with all kinds of pets with all different needs. No job is too big or too small. No animal is too needy or too shy.

Our Founder
Rhys K. built his career working in pet daycare and boarding settings in Brooklyn, NY before moving to Charlotte, NC to be closer to family.
Originally from Melbourne, Australia, Rhys grew up with a series of special needs family pets, from cavapoos with hip dysplasia and diabetes, to shy ragdoll cats, to a nervous and reactive border collie who preferred the company of humans to socializing with her fellow pups.
As a pet-care specialist, he is passionate about serving those animals for whom larger daycare and boarding settings aren’t always the right fit, and ensuring the animals entrusted into his care receive the best possible attention to their specific individual needs.
In his spare time he’s an avid hiker, a published novelist, and a dedicated pet parent to Archie, the most pampered cat in South End.
